Valentina Canalini is specialized in the energy, transport and infrastructure sectors, assisting clients in corporate and M&A transactions as well as project finance and PPP contracts.
She has more than ten years experience in assisting Italian and foreign clients (sponsors, developers, lenders. etc) in the various development phases (authorization proceedings, procurement process, operation and maintenance, etc) and in the financing of numerous infrastructure and energy projects as well as in the sale and purchase of plants for the production of energy, both from renewable and conventional sources.
She assists public and private companies in relation to regulatory and administrative aspects in the regulated strategic sectors (including, for example, the legislation on the so-called, golden power). She has recently collaborated on various telecommunications, broadband and 5G operations.
Graduated in law with honors from the Università degli Studi of Milan, she attended the University of California Berkeley as a Visiting Scholar in 2007 and achieved a PhD in Corporate law and Financial Markets at the Università di Bologna in 2014. From January 2017 to June 2018 she was appointed as Legal Advisor of the Prime Minister at Palazzo Chigi during the Gentiloni’s Government, where she had the opportunity to collaborate in the drafting and review of the main laws and decrees. Since May 2020, she’s a member of the Board of Directors of Terna S.p.A.. She collaborates with several universities, she is part of numerous “think tank” and she is the author of various legal publications.
